Learning Track: Academic Coordinators

Breakout Session 2 (12:40)

Danielson 375

The Intersection of Executive Functioning and Mental Health

In this session we will explore what it is like for students who struggle with executive functioning and how this can impact their mental health and success in school. Using interactive activities, case studies and small group discussion, we will delve into concrete ways to support and advocate for students struggling with their executive functioning. We will also think about how executive functioning challenges show up similarly and differently for younger vs. older students. We will use resources like the Thinking Kids Checklist to help identify what executive functioning skills students need support with.
