DBT Practices in bryt

Oftentimes, students who struggle emotionally in school are silent, avoidant, or act out behaviorally. These behaviors can be challenging for teachers to manage in the classroom. The key to supporting them as learners is by connecting with them and using strategies to help support them. DBT is a set of skills and strategies that can help students learn to cope during their day and helps them become more effective as learners. Making skills part of academics, keeps students in class and ensures students have access to their learning. When we integrate something like DBT Skills into the school environment, we are creating a common language that supports students generalizing skills from the counseling office to the classroom.
