Learning Track: Family Engagement

Breakout Session 1 (9:15)

325 C

Foundations of bryt Family Engagement

Cultivating Mindsets, Systems, and Relationships for Strong Connections

This workshop is designed for both those who are new to bryt - and those long-time interventions that want to pull back and revisit the foundations of their family engagement work.  The session will explore key structural aspects of family engagement within the intervention, including the entry meeting, communication systems and feedback mechanisms.  It will also outline the “outside-the-intervention” bryt Parent Support offerings and explore the important role of the school-based bryt staff in promoting those supports.  Lastly, the session will explore a set of common mindsets schools can occupy when collaborating with parents - and the efficacy of each.
